At Ping Identity Engineering Labs, we push the boundaries of digital identity innovation through research, experimentation, and open standards implementation. Our mission is to make identity systems more secure, interoperable, and user-centric by contributing to and validating the next generation of identity standards.
We actively design and implement emerging specifications such as OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance (OpenID4VCI), OpenID for Verifiable Presentations (OpenID4VP), and Selective Disclosure JWT Verifiable Credentials (SD-JWT VC). These efforts enable trusted, privacy-preserving exchanges of identity data across ecosystems—supporting use cases like digital wallets, verifiable credentials, and decentralized identity.
Our labs also focus on interoperability testing—providing open test servers and sandbox environments for implementers to validate their conformance with open standards. Through collaboration with the OpenID Foundation, IETF, and other standards bodies, we aim to accelerate adoption and ensure real-world compatibility across identity providers, verifiers, and wallets.
Ping Identity Engineering Labs – advancing open identity standards, one implementation at a time.
Below are reference implementations of emerging open identity standards developed by the Ping Identity Engineering Labs. These implementations are intended for demonstration and interoperability testing purposes only. They should not be used in production environments.
